Love these boots
I volunteer at an equine assisted therapy center and I lead the horse for a student, walking around the indoor arena. These boots make my feet happy! And happy feet will keep me volunteering for years to come!

Great Toe Fit
Although I havenāt worn these on a hike yet, after putting them on for the first time, walking around the house, they felt really good. I have a long wide foot and have a hard time finding hikers to fit me. I think these are it. I only wish they made these in a couple different colors as well. A brown or tan would be awesome. For anyone that has really long toes or a wide foot I would highly recommend at trying these.

Wildlife Research Tech Approved
I bought these Dakota Waterproof hiking boots for my daughter who is in the conservation field, currently as a Wildlife Research Technician. She has always had issues with wide feet, high arches, overpronation, and regularly injures her feet and ankles. So of course she goes into a highly physical occupation (we love our animals and nature). Shoes have always been very frustrating for her in the past and it's rare she finds a nice looking shoe that also supports her foot and ankles as she needs. After having these boots for a few months, she messaged me to ask if I'd copy and paste her review since she wasn't the purchaser, so here it is: "My review: 5/5, 10/10, gold star, phenomenal When I got these boots, the attractive part was the 90 day trial period. I am a wildlife research technician, so when I need hiking boots, I need field boots. Boots that can withstand thorns, being caught on sticks, deep mud, river crossings, and more. But I also have foot stability problems, and experience with shoes that are meant for hiking nice paved trails, not pure wilderness. The several month trial period allowed for me to buy these without concern that so much money would be spent on boots that couldn't handle the tasks at hand. I have found that these boots are fantastic. They are waterproof by all means, having been tested out in 7 inch deep puddles and river crossings. The laces barely untie but when they do it is a fault of my own tying, not because they can't hold up to the 9 thorns pulling on them from a bush as I walk past. My ankles feel extremely stable, which is a rare thing on pure forest floor, you never know when you are about to step into a 1 foot hole hidden by leaf litter, but not one time in these boots have I had a "oh no did I just really injure myself" moment after encountering such situation. The toes are solid, they may not be steal but i can certainly kick a boulder with no problems, and I am sure my toes would be heavily protected in a situation that had my foot entrapped. They tread is very deep, making them slightly harder to clean, but I could solve that if I invested in a boot pick instead of random sticks I collect. My feet are not half as sore from a 5, 8, 15, or 20 mile hike as they have been in the past, that being contributed to the boot itself and the orthofoot insoles and arch booster. Overall, I would and do recommend this brand, these boots specifically, to anyone doing field research. 3 months in ans they are still as tough and waterproof as when I got them."
