Feet hurt hiking on rocky terrain
The shoes were comfortable trying on for the first time and worked well on the first two trails that were covered with hard packed dirt and if there were rocks, the surface was flat....But when my daughter and I were on the Savage Alpine Trail (Alaska) both feet started hurting halfway through the hike when we walking over the rocky, uneven part of the trail, the shoes did not provide enough cushion/padding in the soles to protect my feet. We are back from our trip and I have submitted the request to return the shoes.

The jury is still out!
This is my first purchase from Orthofeet. At this point I'm not sure I won't be taking advantage of the 60-day trial and possible return/exchange. I went with these Orthofeet shoes because of my need for a 4E width, and their advertised extra roomy toe box, which I really need. My normal 9.5 x 4E width shoes seem a bit large for me. Especially the 9.5 part. (My normal sport/casual wear shoes, Brooks Running, are all fine at 9.5/4E.) My right heel seems to be sliding around a bit too much. I'm currently working through the various inserts in combination to see what works best. (I find the "O" vs "P" arch supports a bit confounding, as there seems to be no guidance as to how they may be different!) I have a few more combinations to work through before I'll know if these are going to work.

Great Fit
Well made shoes with a very comfortable fit. Enough shims etc to customize to my exact fit. I highly recommend these shoes if you struggle with foot/ankle issues.
