Great alternative to drilling, could use the lock washer included to keep it from slipping side to side since the middle is the focal point. Put to large zip ties on either end to secure it.

This was perfect for my Parsec K9 antenna. It adheres strongly to the roof of my minivan. The rubber feet do nicely to protect the paint.
