A-11 Hack Watch 37mm - Blue on NATO Strap

Could not keep this beautiful watch, so back to the hunt...

I was looking for a field watch that was representative of the military spec-made watches of WWII when I ordered this one from Teddy. I was hesitant because of the case size at 37mm. However the size is larger than the 32mm made in the 1940's so I gave it a shot anyhow. First about the watch. The watch itself is a great looking watch. I know the color combination is not what was worn in the field during its war days, but the colors really pop. The deep blue dial is much more attractive looking at it in person, and the white hour/minute hands, numerals and red second hands are all nice touches. The brown strap works in contrast to really make the colors noticeable. The stainless case is well-made, sturdy, and it does appear as if it can take a beating. When I opened the box though, it appeared much smaller than I thought. I don't know if it is the lug-to-lug measurement, but it was extremely small on my wrist. I reluctantly returned this watch as I personally thought it was eye-catching and I wanted to love it, but I couldn't overcome the petiteness of its on-the-wrist appearance. Regarding the service at Teddy, I reached out to them to inquire about a return and Dan began the return process in no time. The process was quick and efficient and Teddy refunded in a couple of days. Thanks for the courtesy and response. I give this one a 5 star review because, though the watch is attractive, I knew I couldn't wear it and the purchase/return experience was fluid and hassle-free.

Good inexpensive watch

The watch has a good weight to it and doesn't feel cheap. The dial is a very matte dark blue. The strap was a bit too large for my girlfriend's wrist (~14 cm or 5.5 in), but I'd recommend swapping it out for a nicer one anyway. Functionally, everything is in good order, and the watch keeps surprisingly good time.
