My wife needs wheelchair assistance for airports. We will be traveling by air in a few months and needed a solution for carry-on luggage. With the Tortuga, I can carry one on my back and wheel one. We recently took a vacation and were impressed by how much this bag holds. Lots of pockets to stash stuff and stay organized.

Nice concept, limited capacity
Normally, you expect a fabric carry on to expand a bit when you take it out of its shipping wraps. The Tortuga Travel Backpack Pro remains somewhat compressed. This means its capacity wasn't what I expected after reading the positive Wirecutter review. It remains bound up and holds fewer clothes than I would expect for a carry on replacement. Its handle is buried in its folds. You may be able to get more than a couple of changes in it, but you'll be fighting by the bag to stand its sides up.

I expected this backpack to have more open storage and fewer shelves and compartments. All the layers are really not helpful, and ironically, diminish its capacity. On the plus side, the shoulder straps are very comfortable.
