A near-perfect representative silver coin for anything Roman!

I recently purchased this set of Roman Silver Coins in conjunction with the other sets of Roman copper/bronze and gold coins from the same maker, primarily to upgrade components of the board game, "Conquest of the Empire" (Eagle Games, 2005 edition). Specifically about the silver coins: their appearance is representative of Roman denarius/denarii coins, and easily recognizable as Roman. The obverse and reverse are very similar in design to actual coins discovered from the period. The individual detail is very intricate -- probably more so than historical, mass-produced authentic Roman coins. Being made of metal and not plastic, they have weight akin to a real coin of similar size, and sound fantastic clinking them together in your palm! They are perfectly round with no imperfections or signs of long-standing circulation, so they stack up nicely -- for those wishing to accumulate or flaunt their wealth. The only drawback of these coins, in my opinion, is that they are more pewter in colour than a true silver coin -- even when tarnished or heavily-circulated. It is a minor detail, but for those who have knowledge of precious metal coins, it is a noticeable detail. For that reason (and that reason alone) I score the product a 4 out of 5. Overall, I'm very impressed with the product and happy with my purchase. These coins -- along with the other metal coins -- will greatly enhance any board game using Roman currency, and will surely enrich every game player's experience. I intend to acquire more in the near future!
