Good boot

The tough leather is hard to break in. The creases on my left boot were biting into the top of my big toe. The cork insoles didn’t seem very comfortable so I changed them out. It’s been about a month and the leather has softened slightly. I’m putting the cork insoles back in to see if they may be comfortable. The stiffness and comfort of outsole is great flexible to get up and down hills but stiff also. Great grippy Vibram outsole. Maybe it may be my feet that are too sensitive but the width are great for my really wide feet and bunion on right foot.

1st pair — great experience, but a caution on sizing

Bought these on a recommendation from a friend who has been wearing Meindl boots for years. I needed something that would fit and break-in quickly for a 3 day pheasant hunting trip. My concern with ordering shoes/boots online is always going to be the fit. This is where the caution comes in. The Meindl website has a link to a mobile phone assisted sizing tool. After printing out the chart and using the mobile tool — which uses the phone’s camera to size your feet — it recommended I order a size 10. This contradicted many of the reviewers comments that say order a 1/2 size smaller from what you normally wear. I decided to follow the reviews and ordered a size 9. The boots were delivered quickly and fit perfectly. I wore them for a couple of days to break them in and they were very comfortable for 3 days of walking in fields.
