MiSTer FPGA GunCon 2 Sync Breakout (CRT Only)

works great but cannot receive power through VGA

I use a seperate adapter to connect my MiSTer to JAMMA via the VGA, which was powering the MiSTer. This breakout works great (even with my adapter) but the MiSTer can no longer receive power through VGA, so I had to reintroduce a seperate power cord (no big deal). Works flawlessly and laglessly as best as I can tell. I did not make any modifications to my .ini file and it worked immediately with my 3rd party Guncon 2. Thank you!

Works but requires another adapter

While this does work, I found it inconvenient that this has two female VGA ports; especially since it’s not called out in the product description. While you can use it as a passthrough for your male VGA cable, the breakout board doesn’t have a male port to connect directly to an analog IO board. I had to use an additional male to female converter to use this. Unfortunately, that adds some additional strain on the VGA connections, resulting in some sag.

Great so far

I love light gun games and was ecstatic to see Mister Addons offer the IR emitters for the GunCon 3. After receiving them I set them up and put them to the test. I'm happy to say that they work great! I was able to use them on my MisterFPGA (note that you most likely will need to calibrate your gun which you can do by hitting F10 in the OSD) with the PlayStation core. My only regret was not buying two.
