Good product, wasteful packaging

This product is a nice face cream that I would like to buy again because it hydrates well and is vegan. Unfortunately I will not repurchase because the packaging is very wasteful. It's hard to describe, but it comes in one of those containers that you press the inner top down and it dispenses a set amount that you have to wipe off with your hand. Often I find the preset full-pump amount to be slightly too much for my face and neck, so to avoid waste I try to do half pumps or partial pumps which is a guessing game as to how much will actually be dispensed. Additionally, you have to be very precise with wiping the lotion off the top of the pump or it gets caked on. Secondly the amount of plastic this packaging involves is not okay for folks who want to spend sustainably. The company does not offer a low-plastic refill and the container is not easily recyclable no matter all the hullabaloo about Credo accepting used packaging for recycling. (Mailing and/or driving to the store to recycle is inefficient and unsustainable to say the least and the large cap that sits on top of the pump is not recyclable at all. ) The best sustainability comes with products that 1) use less plastic to begin with and 2) when they are made of plastic, can be recycled at home (e. g, #1 plastic). For my next purchase I'll go with whatever I can find that is reasonably priced and in glass.
