Nightraiders by CDR David Bruhn, USN (Ret.) & LCDR Rob Hoole, RN (Ret.)
This book along with the other titles written by CDR Bruhn, USN are always a deep dive into details and the why's and wherefores' of the subject he writes about. In collaboration with LCDR Hoole, RN these two naval officers lend a staggering amount of knowledge about the subject as they both worked in the same naval warfare domain - Mine Warfare. The talent pool in this warfare specialty is neither vast nor deep due it's consistently unrecognized value by the hierarchy of both navies. Although the RN are leaps and bounds ahead of the USN in the late 20th and now the 21st century. There's an element, as always about, learn from your past or you are destined to repeat it. In this book the lessons of the past are more than abundant as captured between the covers of this well written and thoughtful book. It can at times be daunting in digesting the great detail described but it blends well for their overall for their aim. So much happened and so little has been written. Until now.
