Not sure if it was damaged?

The first time I used it, I shook the bottle, like all mousse, but when I sprayed into my hand, pure aerosol came out & it left an abrasion on my skin. I later tried again and vigorously shook for 10 seconds- it seemed to immediately dissolve in my hand and was soupy... I've never used a volumizing mousse before so I wasn't sure if it was normal for that formula to have a different texture than regular mousse but it didn't seem right. I used it a couple weeks after I bought it so I knew it would not refunded but I'm curious to know if this is normal for the product or if I got a bad bottle- I just haven't had the time to look into it further.
