Blanchette Girls Cape

Beautiful cape for kids who hate coats...or twirling.

This pattern is so lovely, and was easy for me to follow. I am still a beginner and my daughter loves it and gets a lot of compliments. it's really cold here right now, and she hates coats so I made it in fleece, and lined the hood only with Sherpa for extra warmth and softness. Since I used fleece, I did not finish the seams on the bottom skirt, but I did turn up the fleece 2" and hemmed, then top stitched 1/2" to make it look more finished. I'd love to make one in flannel and line with cotton. I used a cording foot and a crochet cord to gather the bottom skirt since fleece is so heavy and I find gathering challenging. So many possibilities for this pattern with fabrics, patterns, etc.
