Black Greasy 6 Eye Steel Toe Capped Derby Boot

Boots look great. So far the sole has been stable on wet ground rather than slipping everywhere; precisely why I wanted these. The sizing is bizarre if you're new to boots. I'm UK11 normally in sneakers, UK10. 5 if they're a bit wide. I went for 10 initially and had to return them in exchange for 9's; respect to Solovair for the straight forward exchange policy and speedy postage once they received the old ones. These are still too big, it being so close to Christmas, I chose to settle and get an insole to help make up the difference. The NPS/Solovair site has several different size measurements throughout its pages. While I understand that boots run in their own sizes and are different in-between brands, I feel like uniformity between the different resources on the one website would have helped for a more informed purchase. Also, I had previous corresponded with customer services on the matter; again, respect to the speedy and honest response, but even they suggested getting a UK10 to start. To any first time buyers; use the measurement guide to measure your foot, then use the size guide on the individual item's listing to make your choice. Only 4 stars as the original insole on these were wrecking my feet.

Awesome boot, love how it looks and fits, super comfortable even with the steel toe and especially as the leather starts to form to the foot, these are clearly great quality boots. The 6-eye is a great alternative if you’re not into particularly high boots. I don’t have very wide feet at all but they still fit me well, just have to have the laces tight. This Last is clearly great for wider feet, but it’s not a necessity! I use these with the leather insoles which take up any excess space. I would say these are true to size, but make sure you follow the size guide to get the best fit as you definitely want a nice amount of space between your toes and the steel caps (e. g, i measured 27. 5cm with boot socks, i tried the size 8 which is 27. 9cm but that was too small, so i got the size 8. 5 which is 28. 3cm which fits great). Also, Solovair’s return & exchange service is stellar, and they are very helpful over email with sizing questions!

So far, good. I like the quality, feels rugged and tough but not uncomfortable. I feel like the screws in the sole don't need to be there and I worry that perhaps they'll catch on carpet one day but that's a minor consideration. Haven't broke these in yet, I wear them to work daily so they will soon ease in.
