If you spend enough time chasing wind in far-flung corners of the world, you start obsessing over two things: efficiency and packability. Enter the Ride Engine Micro Pump, a pump so small you half expect it to come with a warning label that says “Don’t underestimate me. ” I toss mine in my 35L Dakine dry bag, and it disappears like a stowaway with a mission. I’ve lugged it from the Caribbean to Miami, the Outer Banks, and all the way down to Brazil, where I did an unsupported downwinder from Cumbuco to Camocim. Along the way, stopping in random pousadas, this little pump became my most trusted travel buddy. It never complained, never took up too much space, and never left me deflated (pun intended). Is it as beefy as a full-size pump? No. But that’s the beauty. It’s compact, reliable, and perfect for the kiteboarder who knows ounces matter when you’re living out of a dry bag or board bag and chasing the next session. Pair it with an Air Box and you’ve basically got the James Bond gadget kit of inflation, lightweight, slick, and always ready to go. I highly recommend this as a travel pump.
