Holstein Comfort Violin Chinrest

my quest for perfect chinrest is over (for now anyway)

After trying about ten different chinrests in the past, this one feels the most comfortable. It also allows for the most secure and relaxed hold of the violin (I do not use shoulder rest). Reading chinrest reviews pointed me in new directions but I found that perceived fit is a very individual experience. Anyway, I am very happy with the purchase - product, packaging, delivery and fit. Exactly as expected. Beautiful wood that matched my current tailpiece and pegs set up. I was looking for a chin rest that resembled the most to a chin rest I’ve had since I was a student. It’s the most comfortable one I’ve ever encountered, so I kept it when every time I’ve changed violins. I don’t have the brand so I had to compare by photo. Holstain Comfort is very close, not exact, but much more comfortable than the Guarnieri chin-rest that came with my new violin from the luthier. It was too flat for me. Although my original set up in my older violin fits like a glove and it may be hard to replicate, this chin-rest is indeed very comfortable. It offered the hight and fit I wanted for my jaw and surprisingly it improved the sound of my violin too! I wasn’t expecting that but I like it even more now. Beautiful to look at as well. I recommend it.
