I am very pleased with the performance and functionality of the Acaia Lunar Scales for making espresso. It has significantly improved my coffee and consistency including the taste of the final cup because instead of eyeballing the amount of my shots and weighing them later to find they are often a up to 10g over or a little under now I can use weight firstly and adjust the time of my shots accordingly. They are a very responsive scale - you can aim for about 2g under your desired weight and by the time you turn the flow off it will drip to the final target weight. If they were less responsive you'd have further margin for error. The only negative is the price of the scales of course which are about half the cost of a decent grinder. So you have to weigh up if that's worth it to you.
