This is probably one of the best attachments you can buy for your weber, especially if you don't own a separate smoker. you can do low and slow while being able to control the cook from outside your house, no more staying around the grill for 6-8 hours and having an unproductive day. Temperature control is on point, even better than an electric oven. You can also do hot and fast indirect too with the right attachment. you crank up the fan with the charcoal basket or SnS and turn your grill into a convection oven, so you don't even need to buy the vortex. I actually never had the device dropping out of wifi ever, like some mentioned. Either they fixed it, or my outdoor wifi router is doing great work. the app does need restarting periodically as it would fail to connect but it only takes a second and the venom itself never disconnects from wifi/internet, which is the most important part. hopefully they fix it soon but it is a very small annoyance regardless.

I purchased the webcraft, venom, and next level grills. Assembly was easy, and the webcraft and next level are great. I have not been able to get the Venom to work due to a probe issue. I had tried the help app on the website, but didn't see a response (turns out they did respond, but my email decided I didn't need to see the responses, so I'd recommend to check your filters and spam if you do reach out to them). Thankfully, Miles has gone out of his way to reach out and help me troubleshoot the problem, and was in contact through the weekend and on Memorial Day. And after we talked, he determined a part needed replaced and within minutes I got notification that it was on the way. Top notch customer service, and I can't wait to use the venom (the webcraft and next level have been amazing so far).

I had been looking at this for close to 6 months or so before I ended up purchasing it and I’m glad I finally did. I’ve only used it twice since I installed it onto my 22” Weber kettle as we’ve been having some naders and a ton of rain. From the two times I’ve used it I just did a couple basic cooks and that was a pork butt and then a couple of chuck roasts and ended up doing the chuck roasts as burnt ends over smoked baked potatoes. Both cooks this spider venom held it at a precise 225 degrees the entire time until I moved it up to 275 degrees. I had seen that it had fluctuated a degree once or twice and that’s more than acceptable. I like that I can control a monitor my Weber kettle and run errands and not have to worry just as you would with a pellet grill and ThermoWorks RFX probes. The flavor of charcoal a wood chunks just can’t be beat. Yea you could run an offset smoker but you’re not leaving that unattended for several hours at a time like you can with the spider venom controller. I still will use my pellet grills but I’ve really been doing 90% of my cooks lately on the good ole Weber kettle. I absolutely love this spider venom controller. I’ve been looking at the spider venom kettles and they’re very nice and built like a tank but a premium price and yes you’ll pay for what you get so that Giant Huntsman is on my wish list. If you’re contemplating on picking up the spider venom controller, do it. You won’t regret it.
