Great Bag

This turned out great!, I made one in reg canvas to practice till I received by items. I made a mistake and cut the main fabric 17 instead of 19 inches, so I just did a covered seam (like the pocket) instead of the french seam and actually liked it better

I made the Oberlin from a seconds kit with the zipper expansion and the lining expansion. I got a dark navy bag with burgundy pockets with matching thread. I love making these kits because I get so many compliments. The "seconds" kit had no flaws. The instructions are super easy to follow, just take your time with the heavy materials. The leather straps were black and I wish they had come in navy instead. Overall, the zipper expansion gets a bit in the way of the interior zipper pocket, so if I make it again I will use the zipper expansion or the lining expansion but not both, or maybe skip the inside pocket. I also recommend purchasing a rivet setting tool so that you are not hammering directly on your rivet caps. Thank you!
