Improve your positional escape skills

This is a four volume positional escape instructional covering the following positions: side control, Kesa Gatame, mount, side mount (i.e., technical mount), knee ride and back control. The escapes are taught by Chris Haueter with the assistance of a number of his black belts - Melissa Haueter, Jamico "Jay" Elder and Sam Kressin. Instruction and commentary are provided by both Chris Haueter and the other instructor that he is partnered with for that particular technique. In this instructional it is assumed that the opponent may use their positional dominance to punch you in the face, so the escapes generally make an allowance for this risk. The teaching to me is dynamic with the interaction of two people teaching the technique. Techniques are repeated multiple times. A fun bonus is watching Melissa Haueter’s effective and flexible movement and to me an almost magical ability to get armbars. The video and sound quality are fantastic. A handheld stabilised camera has been used so the camera follows the action and the range is excellent. The video is in my opinion professional quality, a cut above the standard for most BJJ instructionals. The available previews are consistent with the whole instructional in terms of presentation and video and sound quality. There are lots of positional escape instructionals that are available and what makes this instructional different is having several different instructors teaching a series of fundamental positional escapes. These instructors display their knowledge, skill and energy and this, plus the format of the instructional kept me engaged with the content. This instructional has a total runtime of 2 hours and 23 minutes.

The Old school way.

Much respect to the old school way. Chris is full of info, he reminds me of one of my old roommates who was supper passionate about the art. He and his group show some traditional and some unorthodox escapes. The moves are good and the quality of instruction is good. Would be nice to see him do a video at bjj fanatics location.
