Wet, Wet, Wet Black Ink. Did I Mention It's Wet?
Preface: I was looking for a dry black ink, and I found what I now believe to be the only online comment/review describing Calamo Black as dry. As you can tell by the title of my review, Calamo Black did not meet my expectations. I chalk that up to insufficient research by me, and I am not dinging my rating of the ink because an internet stranger misled me. Now, the review bit: If you are looking for an uber-wet, uber-black ink, this is it. The only comparably wet black ink I have used is Noodlers Borealis Black. It is really, really, wet. This is a good ink for an EF nib that is a dry writer. Any broader, though, and you will be writing lines that are at least one nib size broader than the pen you are using. As noted above, it is really black--again, the comparison for me is Borealis Black. But it has a quicker drying time than Borealis Black. In short, it isn't the ink for me, but absolutely may be the ink you're looking for.

Gorgeous inks, unbeatable price for the quantity
I bought two Stipula's Calamo inks, one in sepia color and the other in black. I have used the sepia color which is just so beautiful! By using it with a medium-fine nib it looks like a chocolate brown, probably with a broad nib you can detect the different brownish nuances. I bought the largest bottle (80 ml) which had a fabulous sale price of about $12 which is the same price you pay for other more known brands like Pelikan, Waterman but for a 30ml (smaller) bottle. All in all, so... I'm very satisfied with this brand's ink.
