In the Ford Transit 350HD van, the mount replaces the driver's cup holder. It works very well, although the Garmin has to be vertical. That's OK, since any other position I tried for this large piece of gear didn't work at all. It does not block the mirrors and is very sturdy. This position also means easier hiding of power cords. I was able to attach the magnetic mount that came with the Garmin directly to the new pedestal, using the screws that came with the Garmin. Problem solved!
