CineStill 50D - 35mm Film

I have grown to love this film

I’ve shot half a dozen rolls of 50d and it is fast becoming my favourite colour negative film. Hardly any grain, massive latitude (more contrast can be added in post process) and good sharpness add up to a pretty compelling package. For artistic daytime effects you can shoot it at ISO 25 on a tripod with an ND filter.

Low contrast with lovely colours

I found this to have absolutely lovely colours, slightly faded without looking like there's anything wrong, and really enjoyed shooting with it in bright light. You will get some halation (I'd say less than CineStill 800T), and on occasions this looks like lower contrast / lower acutance in those areas.

Surprising results in low light

I used this film in low light conditions and the results were surprisingly good despite the large aperture and slow shutter speeds required. Lots of reddish halation in the highlights which gives the photos an interesting look.
