Mascotte Green Beans

This was my first year ordering from West Coast seeds and also my first time ordering Mascotte Bean seeds. I have to say that I am most impressed with the germination rate, which was by far superior than any other variety of beans that I have ever bought. The hardiness of the small seedlings was also outstanding. With other varities, I always found myself reseeding 2-3 times due to small seedlings dying off; not so with the Mascotte Beans. As far as productivity and taste/quality of the beans, It's still too early for me to comment, as my plants are still in the bloom stage; so far, I'm seeing a lot of blooms on each plant. I will have to wait and see what the beans are like (string free and taste) to comment any further.

Thin long bean, tender and flavourful. Produced well until period of heatwave. Now producing again as the weather cools. Very satisfactory. My favourite bean.

These plants produce a fair amount of beans and they were delicious. I didn’t get to enjoy them as much as I wanted because the rabbits got into them. I Will be planting them again next year.
