Sursargam Box Tanpura

Authentic Bliss!

I have always wanted to find this sound that I now know comes from this amazing Tanpura instrument. It sounds so authentic and even though it is much smaller than the larger more common versions of the Tanpura it sounds just as beautiful!

Superb instrument made with the highest craftsmanship

I began using this box Tanpura the same day it arrived, and it has added greatly to both my Kirtan and Sound Bath offerings. The affordable price of this style doesn't at all mean that this is a second-rate instrument; on the contrary, the beauty of tone from this Tanpura is just excellent: very rich and vibrant. Kudos to Nic and the OD team for offering this!

Exceeded my expectations

My box Tanpura arrived today. It was exceptionally well packaged in its soft case, wrapped in foam, and cushioned with packing peanuts in a nice over size box. I appreciate Nic emailing me a tuning sheet, as a starting point. The topic of tanpura tuning is quite complex, and there is much for me to learn after reading numerous articles online. I tuned it up to C and things came alive rather nicely. I’d say it took a little bit of practice to get adjusted to playing it. In very little time I had a consistent touch and wave of harmonic overtones one would expect. While it is well suited for use for music, I will be using it in concert with some other sound healing instruments I have. I can adjust the tuning to match the pitch of some of my singing bowls. Most of which are between C and C#. I really appreciate the quality control that Old Delhi Music makes in curating what ships out to customers. I would not hesitate to recommend this box tanpura to anyone.
