TUSQ XL Nut by Graph Tech Model # 4061-00 ¼” Epiphone Style Blank

4061-00 Nut Blank.

I have a Precision Guitars LP Jr. kit I built, and although I always buy Graph Tech pre-slotted nuts I decided to go with the blank to get the string spacing closer to where I wanted it. The blank was fine to work with, and is all set up for string height and intonation. Graph Tech is great, but I will say that I spent a lot of time filing and sanding down the extra material on the nut to get it where it needed to be, so if you’re in a hurry you really need a belt sander or some kind of powered device to shape the nut properly and get the height right. No knock on Graph Tech at all, it’s a great product, but if you’re doing it by hand it’s a big job compared to the pre slotted nuts.

Best nut material. Better than bone on my guitar. Tried bone but sounded too harsh and bright. Lost all harmonic quality with bone. Back to tusq and will stick to it for any guitar that has it stock from factory. Great customer service from Graphtech. Fast shipping also!
