Perlon Watch Strap
OK, so, this is a pleasure to wear and is quite different from anything I've used in the past. It's not that Perlon is some wonder fabric, it isn't, it is made from a very common engineering material called Nylon 6. The secret, if you like, is in how the material is used, it is woven into a very nice feeling fabric, quite lovely on the wrist. I have to say that it's the current (personal) favourite material for a watch band. Soft feeling, breathable in a way that other straps aren't and dead easy to adjust for a perfect fit on any given day (my wrist size changes due to a medical condition). It washes easy and dries fast, so it's easy, low-maintenance. However, the nature of the fabric and the weave means that it behaves strangely after getting wet; it shrinks significantly along the length of the strap and it gets wider across the width of the strap. For me, this caused two issues: I've a fairly thick wrist and the shrinkage leaves almost nothing coming out of the buckle when you put the watch on, this means that it's a fiddly thing as the end of the strap is stiff and awkward to manipulate. The other, more serious thing is that the extra width the strap acquires means that it is difficult to feed through the buckle and even more so when trying to get the end of the strap through the keeper. I get around this by using a larger buckle and keeper, but it's a pain having to do this. Will I buy more, probably not unless these issues are addressed. Would I recommend it to others, probably, funny enough. You just have to bear in mind that the stral will change after it's been washed.

NATO Straps from Sydney Strap Co
Great quality, great price and very quick delivery. Sydney Strap Co is now my first choice for all strap purchases. I’m hoping they’ll also offer deployment clasps soon.

First perlon
A worthy addition as it's lighter for hotter days
