Light Kit for Hedwig 75979

Nicely done, but a bit loud

Again, this kit is put together really well. Very sturdy and neat packaging too. Installation was quite doable for our 14yo, however the end result is not quite what we expected. Our brick owl resides in a display case high up against our living room wall where it's very visible. The lights in the eyes are really really well done, the effect is awesome. However, the red LED on the envelope seal is blinking, which doesn't add much IMO, and the non-stop flashing lights under the tail feathers are more reminiscent of a police car than a magical snowy owl. Therefore, one star less than the full score. Still, after i replaced the red envelope LED for a non-blinking one and disconnect the tail LEDs it will still be a very cool piece. This one too was easy to install and it looks really cool. Maybe a tad too 'cool'.. Considering the age of the original vehicle and the LEGO model being blue I strongly feel that the interior light and headlights should be 'warm white' rather than 'very white white' but it's not enough of a deal to lower the stars rating. Maybe one day i'll replace them though..
