4.5, not really a 4. Fantastic features and build quality, but...

Once the journey of opening the box in the street so I could carry the thing in pieces up the hallway entrance to my home was over, putting it together was a breeze. Even alone. And once that was done, I noticed 2 mild-medium inconveniences. The keyboard tray is very shallow. My Kontrol 88 mk3 was sticking out quite a bit with the back panel installed. I had to remove it in order to push the keyboard in farther than it normally would be. And now with the tray fully extended, I can barely see the keyboard's screen. Not great. In most of the videos (which are quite old by now) the tray seems to have been different, and better. The new one is a downgrade. And the second thing is that the 2 rack units have built in, non-removable, white LED cables (what's with the LED-first approach anyway?). The cables were quite obtrusive and protruded enough to make both my rack modules impossible to install. I had to cut them and tape the exposed wires inside the rack box. But these are my only complaints. I'm enjoying it immensely and it already improved my productivity by quite a bit. Will happily recommend it to my friends.

I suspected the build quality would stand out—and it absolutely does. Now that my desk is set up, I'm genuinely amazed. Everything arrived impeccably packed, with extra hardware included (a thoughtful touch!). Assembly wasn't difficult at all, especially thanks to the clear, concise YouTube installation video—I highly recommend watching it beforehand; it's short, well-produced, and saved me time. I also love the perfectly positioned padded wrist rest—such a simple addition. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed and extremely pleased. This desk exceeds expectations in quality, functionality, and ergonomics. If you're serious about your studio setup, Pro or Home - StudioDesk is a fantastic choice—highly recommended!

Out with the old...

Working in a studio built in 1974 has its unique challenges. Our studio structure is super solid, just old. The Orbit StudioDesk is the centerpiece of our refit and works perfectly, keeping our mic pres at an arm’s length and fulfilling the accessibility requirements of our educational facility. There is still some bits and pieces to finish but so far, this has been a huge improvement to our facility!! Everyone who has seen this refit has been very impressed. ..and I have yet to fire up the LED’s!!!
