The Earth Board, Size: Tournament

Do not be scared of the price point. This board, while not a budget option, is beautifully crafted. The sound of the checkers on the walls is deep and rich, and the surface is perfectly smooth making for effortless play. In addition the dimensions of the board make it easy to navigate, even for those with shorter reach. The color scheme, additional game components, and overall presentation gets constant praise at the meets I attend, and the board conventiently stores everything you need to play and then some. If only the price could go down a little, I would recommend it as the first and only board for every player getting into the game.

I love this board, they did an excellent job in all aspects. I was disappointed that it only came with one pair of dice, though.

We recently got into backgammon and wanted to upgrade from our 16” Silverman (with Crisloid checkers). We did months of research and to make a long story short, we kept coming back to the Earth Board. I can whole heartedly agree with everything positive that’s already been said…it is a great size, you have flexibility with the modular checker box, the sound and feel of the checkers against the oak is fantastic, the color scheme is pleasing to the eye, it is solidly built, ships with two pair precision dice, the visual appearance is stunning, shipping was lightning fast, and you can change the inlays to another color if you want. After receiving our board, we feel it is a 10/10 and worth the investment! Now let me share some new and hopefully useful information that you won’t find in other reviews…the doubling cube will hold 8 dice up to 14.3mm in size AND a ZMF-II clock will fit inside the closed board comfortably with a scoreboard alongside the checker box AND you will get pictures of your board prior to shipping! Finally, I highly suggest trying 12.7mm dice. I thought they would be too small but they are perfect. Great action on the playing surface and in the cups. We keep four sets of different colors inside the doubling cube. Highly recommend! The Earth Board (or some version of it) belongs in every collection.
