Spinner lure kit review

I purchased this kit and began putting together the #1 spinners. First of all I tied some deer hair and crystal flash on the treble hooks. This seems to add to the appeal of this bait. I have caught several 10- 12 inch bass and a decent bluegill. I imagine that these would work f trout as well. I wish detailed instructions had been included. For example: I twisted the shaft a little short on the first two spinners. They don’t spin quite as freely as they should. I had a mepps spinner to compare it to. The distance between the top bead (the small bead above the spinner) and the twist forming the loop should be no less than 1/4 inch. I did this and the rest turned out pretty good. I also wish the kit had included a couple of extra shafts. You’re likely to mess up the first couple of times and have the cut the shaft and start over. Finally it helps if you have a fly tying vice to hold the shaft in place especially when you slip on the small bead. Also a pair of needle nose plies to hold the bead is essential. Trying to perform the operation with your fingers is very difficult.

This is a great way to cut the cost on inline spinners. If you are a fan of Mepps Aglia #3 or Vibrax Blue Fox #3 than this kit is for you! Easy to put together, and you only need round nose pliers & cutting pliers to assemble.
