My experience with Abalone shell inlay has been very good. After watching the videos related to installing the inlay on butt handles I must say it's a remarkable product. Heating is very important prior to installing. Covering the inlay with thread to set the inlay is as well. Properly measuring the piece is extremely important. The shell inlay works well when applied properly. This is a great product to use when using it on butt handle open areas. I recommend this product whole heartly for custom rod work?
