Fine for wide range of temperatures.

It seems to work very well. It's not "instant read" -Takes a minute or two to take a reading. Note: the top is plastic so high heat can-t be near the top. Now if I could only find a very small Indoor/outdoor one for the car. Lasts way longer than the el-cheapo at Harbor Freight at half the price.
