CRB Rod Blank Deflection Tool

Great but not perfect

I love the rod blank deflection tool and I use it often as a rod designer for MAVRK Fly Fishing. But the tool isn't great when measuring rod action using the "string" test. As I pull on the string to get the tip vertical, the rod slips back. This tool needs an adjustable stopper plate at the butt of the rod to keep it in place. It also needs a loop (ring) so the string can pass through and come back to where I am standing, which is at the tip of the rod.

It was a bit of a struggle to figure out how to secure the rod at first. But I am very happy with it. I work alone so having that is a big help. I use it to check guide placement and to determine line weight on vintage fly rods.
