Cello Soundpost Inserter / Remover

Good for placement, but needs work for secure positioning

I found it easy to use the tool to extract a fallen soundpost from a cello, and easy to put the soundpost in and get it in approximately the right position. But the tension the tool exerted on the soundpost while getting it positioned as desired was insufficient, and it kept falling. I had to purchase another, more traditional, soundpost tool, that was not great for insertion, but much better for positioning, to finally get the job done. I suppose someone with more experience (this was my first time) may have been able to accomplish it with just this tool.

It was a great experience. The tool was shipped out and received here remarkably swiftly. It turned out to be a great improvement over past methods of retrieving and setting the soundpost in place. I may have to order the smaller tool for the violin, as I dabble a bit on that instrument.

It works wonderfully.
