doesn't work for my yard

I have a 4-500 square foot area with plants, trees, bushes, etc. I thought for sure there would be some instruction on the use of a "sprayer" unit hooked to a hose. There is no way I can do this area with a gallon of water/Rev at a time. I think I will need to purchase fertilizer already set up for the hose sprayer. I prefer a more planet friendy product.
