Check power requirements of external Hard drives

After hours of research I though I had a good fit. But no, it does not work with my 4T WD external portable hard drive. After purchasing, finally found on Hyper website, buried several pages down in FAQ, it does not support some external hard drives, specifically those that exceed 900mA. So ultimately my error since I didn't realise my HDD needed that much power. But frustrated with how difficult it is to figure out what hubs work (or not !). Looks to be a good hub otherwise, the card reader works fine.

It was not clear that the USB-C connector was for power only. Does not work for USB or Thunderbolt. Everything else does seem to work (I could not check the Display Port). Lots of I/O in one (large) package but runs much hotter than I expected. Overall, I am pleased with what I got.

Ultimate USB-C Hub - all in one place

The HyperDrive USB-C Hub for MacBook is great for my home office. It has all of the connectors I need all in one place. It is large enough that I don't easily misplace it and small enough to fit in my laptop bag. Works for me.
