I ce Cream Mix

I have been making egg based custard to put in hand crank ice cream freezers for about forty years. I enjoy the process but there are times when starting the day before to cook the egg mixture and then chill the mix overnight is unhandy or simply not possible. I purchased the premix from Homeplace Market with the idea of using it when time was an issue. For the record, I did not follow the instructions to the letter as I replaced part of the milk with heavy whipping cream and this obviously affects the end product. The result was good. Texture was very smooth and freezing time was similar to home made mix I have used for years. There was none left after everyone ate their fill. I can recommend the product. I will also say that I do think the fresh egg/cream mixture that I have used for years is still my preference if time is available to cook and cool the mixture. I may be biased of course.
