Pairs beautifully with the Seiko SSB479. The tapered design complements the vintage mood of the watch perfectly, and the finishing quality is excellent overall. My initial piece had a defect on one side of the strap, but Strapcode arranged a replacement, which was much appreciated. That said, response times can be slow, so a little patience goes a long way — but the outcome is worth it.

I recently picked up the Strapcode Milanese Tapered Mesh (20mm) and I have to say I absolutely love the look of this bracelet. The polished mesh finish looks fantastic and really elevates the appearance of any watch. The mesh itself is extremely pliable and comfortable, which is exactly what you want from a Milanese-style bracelet. It drapes beautifully around the wrist and feels very well made overall. One small critique is that the mesh can feel a little thick where the two layers overlap under the clasp, so that section can be slightly bulky. It’s not a dealbreaker at all, but it’s the only place where you really notice the thickness. Another point worth mentioning is that the ends are not secured with a folding deployment clasp. Instead, you need to hook the two ends together and then lock the clasp. This works well once you get used to it, but mistakes can be costly, so I recommend practicing the first few times over a bed or sofa just to avoid dropping your watch. Aside from that, this bracelet is excellent. It completely transforms watches that originally came on leather or rubber, instantly giving them a more refined and vintage feel. The 20mm to 16mm taper is perfect and really captures that classic vintage bracelet style. For me, the 20mm size is especially versatile, allowing me to rotate it across several watches in my collection. Overall, highly recommended. If you like Milanese bracelets, this is a great option. I’ve shared images and a short video of it on my Kurono Tokyo Toki Anniversary, where it really raises the bar for the watch. The clasp is also flat, which means laser engraving should be very easy, something I may consider doing later. Highly recommended.
