Myrtle Peppermill Blank (12" x 3" x 3")

Myrtle split.

After squaring both ends and cutting off one piece for the head, I drilled through-holes for the mill mechanism. However, the blank split on both ends during the drilling process. I have photos, but not sure how to submit them.
