Perfect for our needs

I manage volunteer backcountry trail maintenance projects, primarily for youth, in an area where there are plenty of bears, but few good trees with limbs big and low enough to set up a bear hang. Bear vaults/cannisters are too heavy for most of our youth to carry, so we needed something lightweight, bear resistant, and big enough to carry a week's worth of food. We purchased a bunch of the AllMitey Kodiak bags, and they worked perfectly. They are rugged and durable, easy to tie off, lightweight, and easy to clean. I expect these to last many years, and we will be buying more for our programs!

Not rodent proof, absorbs moisture

I like that it takes the shape of my backpack while holding my food. I'm sure it probably stands up to large predators trying for an easy meal, but not having a velcro closure option (drawstring only) makes your food vulnerable to mice or chipmunks. The opening just doesn't close all the way. The holes where the rope goes through the Ursack fray with use. A brass grommet at those locations would be a quality addition. The fabric edges inside also frayed, losing threads. The Ursack also absorbs moisture. Bring a contractor garbage bag if it'll be exposed to the elements or in your backpack if you sweat.
