Tie back boots for Hilda and Twig Costume

The pattern was clear and easy to follow. I prepared an old child’s wool sweater per the instructions and used pieces for the toe. These are the red boots from the comic book series Hilda and Twig (Hilda’s boots). I also cut off the bottoms of water-shoes and sewed them to the bottom of the boots… to make them more useable. I wasn’t sure if suede or leather would be too slippery or thin. For the soles I used pieces of old jeans and hand stitched the rubber bottoms to them. I think it turned out. Thank you. I plan on making winter house slippers next time. Will make a cozy present for my mom.

A couple of missing notches

I like this pattern and found the baby shoes a little fiddly and there was only one notch on the pattern (one on the sole) but the pattern referred to aligning the notches on the soles to the notches on the heel and toes.

Have cut out pattern and read the instructions which are good to follow now just need peace too actually sew together.
