It's a mat. Does the job. :)
The coffee station is cleaner thanks to additional of this inexpensive accessory. Not sure why I waited so long to add it.

Good tamping mat
Nice thickness gives it enough heft and grip so it doesn't slide around while you are using it. Feels durable, but only time will tell about that. Good cutout for pressurized portafilter tamping. Very pleased with this mat.
