iFi iPower X | Audio Power Supply

Surprised by joy!

Hey guys just want to give a quick summary of a new inexpensive addition I made to my setup. It’s the Ifi Power X power supply. Now you need to understand that I have never bought any type of power supply, conditioner etc, as I believed them to be nothing more than snake oil leveraging the "placebo effect" experienced by many audiophiles. I was expecting little to no change from my Wiim Pro Plus but the moment I plugged it in I could not believe my ears. I played the exact same tracks I had played 2 days ago and I was hearing new instruments which had been "hiding" in the tracks. Everything became louder, bigger, wider, clearer, and the bass…the bass! The music sounded as if some grit had been removed and was now sooooo smooth. Frankly my S400 Mk2’s have never sounded better. Anyway call me properly chastened. If a small change like this can make such a big difference, I’m excited to see what bigger changes may do. I ordered a Holo Audio Cyan 2 Dac that should arrive next month. Down the road I plan on upgrading my Wiim with a new streamer, but right now I am thrilled with this tweak. Happy listening!
