My purchase of a replacement remote blank flip key for my Mazda 2 car turns out to be incompatible. It does not work on my 2009 Mazda 2 model. My original problem was a damage outer casing of my remote key.
Firstly, the new unit has a different positive and negative contact circuitry to the lithium battery compartment as compare to my old remote key unit even though the rest of the unit (casing etc) is the same. Eventually I tried using the new unit as spare parts and replaced the damaged casing part on my old remote unit. However, even though my new hybrid remote key looks good but it does not work on my car. I can only use my hybrid key to open the car doors/boot remotely or manually but fail to start the car engine. The locking icon on car dash board display appears whenever I turn the car key to start the car engine. End result is very similar to a situation like starting a car engine with a flat car battery. There is an initial click but engine do not start and locking icon start blinking continuously on the dash board if the key is in the “on” position.
