I have a 5 gal planted nano shrimp tank that had been overrun with green hydra. I was nervous about treating it due to the small tank volume and of course being paranoid about harming my precious shrimp! I slightly underdosed with this treatment, first suspending the powder in a bit of tank water in a dish and then pouring that into the tank. It didn't really dissolve, but the particles dispersed and were circulated throughout the tank. The next day I could tell that the hydra weren't happy, as they had contracted their tentacles and seemed dormant. This was the case for several days and then I gradually noticed them disappearing, I guess as they died and their bodies disintegrated. After the prescribed treatment period I did a water change. Now, a week later, I don't see any live hydra in the tank, and my shrimp are doing well! One even started carrying eggs during the treatment week. And I have plenty of bio protector left if I need to treat again in the future.
