Genmaicha Organic : green tea with grilled rice

Such a great tea to enjoy with Japanese, rice and sushi dishes. Ofcourse can be enjoyed on it is own to.

Really nice late-evening tea

Really good genmaicha. Good smell and uniformly green looseleaf, very mellow with low astringency, low bitterness. The colour of the infusion is a warm shade of jade, indicating fresh and high quality green tea leaves; Good clarity. Held up well to multiple infusions. The toasted rice and popcorn gives it a flavour profile that goes really well with starchy dishes, tonight I had it with a grilled cheese sandwich. A great tea to have with meals or later in the night when you need a lower caffeine tea. Delicious!
