Im not sure about 12 months but it is easy to apply. Helps with light scratches like how it looks when it sets after a couple of hours. Ive used it along with paint sealant to extend it as well as ceramic sprays this year because last year i feel like it stop working after a few months. Because water stopped beading. Its worth the buy
