As to date I have not used the rod I’m hoping later this week we’ll finally be able to get on the ice. I like the rod there are a few details that could have bee done better. The cap where the rod comes out of the handle has a gap and the rod is not centered in it. The reel is what I would expect on a combo under $50 dollars where I fish I could catch a small perch to a 5-8 lb bass Rainbow or brown trout so I’ll see if the unit holds up. All in all I’m happy with my purchase.

Good for a beginner.
