Sailor Ink Studio 440 - Ink Sample

Professional blue

I recently went through the major brand standard blue inks to see which one I would select as my go-to professional blue: Sailor, Pilot, Lamy and TWSBI. Of those three I put Sailor 3rd as the blue color was just a little too dark and muted for my tastes. However this Ink Studio 440, to me, represents a blue more inline with those other brands. Granted it's a little pricier; so it goes. But it's a gorgeous no-nonsense blue. Performance-wise, Sailor inks tend to behave quite well and are on the wetter side. If I have a pen that writes a little bit too narrow or dry for my liking, often a Sailor ink compensates for that by laying down a wetter line.
