Band saw blade for wood

New blades

Used the metal cutting blade and it works great.

the saw cuts well in a straight line but when I try and go around a curve it boggs down and almost stops.

I have gone through a number of these blades. They always seem to break at the weld, without warning and long before they become dull. I spoke with customer service about this issue and they didn't have much experience with the wood blades but were very supportive. Prior to this purchase, I always was very careful and never used a high speed. After my discussion with customer service, I have tried using what seems to be a ridiculously high blade speed. This seems to be the secret. While the whole saw is vibrating and things seem way too would up to be right, the blade cuts like crazy and the symptomatic thunk that coincides with a break has yet to occur. Fingers crossed at this point but this seems to be the undocumented secret.
